  16.      I have a Multitech MT2834ZDX external modem trying to connect to 
  17. Microcom 28.8 V.34 modems that the ISP is using. What happens is that 
  18. after the modems have answered i get the login prompt and try to enter my 
  19. login nothing happens it locks up, i can't type anything. The TD light on 
  20. the Multitech flashes but no RD it then times out and drops my 
  21. connection. This happens the majority of the time once in a while i am 
  22. able to connect and everything works ok, (not very often though).  I am 
  23. using Quarterdeck Internet Suite software using the default Init string 
  24. for the Multitech modem with PPP. I can connect up to any other type 
  25. modem with no trouble just seems to be a conflict with the Microcom. I 
  26. also have friends with Multitech and they can not login to the Microcom. 
  27. I have talked to the Microcom people they say that Multitech has a bad 
  28. AT&T chip.   I would appreciate any help that anyone would have.
